Have a look at the following.

YOUR AGE BY EATING OUT

Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway-but your waiter may know!

YOUR AGE BY DINER & RESTAURANT MATH

This is pretty neat.

DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute .
Work this out as you read ...
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.

1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to go out to eat.
(more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5

4. Multiply it by 50

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1757 ....
If you haven't, add 1756.

6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(I.e., how! Many times you want to go out to restaurants in a week.)

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!!!)

i'd just like to point out that, clever as this is, if you know the four digit year of your birth you'd have a good shot at calculating your age in the first place !

I'd  hazard a guess that it doesn't only apply to eating either.

Oh my god shocker...
Let's look at this a bit more closely. the 6 steps give you this... (e eat out number, y the year of your birth). We'll go with birthday this year...

50(2e + 5) + 1757 - y

let's multiply out those brackets!

100e + 250 + 1757 - y
=100e + 2007 - y.

Oh my god, taking away the year of your birth from the date of your last birthday gives you your age. and then adding it to 100 times the mystical eating out number put's that in front of it.

This of course breaks if you are older than 100. Take that maths.

Here is one I used to astound and amaze people with years ago. I won't always work but will work 9 times out of 10:

Pick a number from 5 to 9

Subtract 5

Multiply by 3

Square the number (multiply it by itself)

Add the digits in the number together until you get only one digit; i.e. 64: 6 + 4 = 10; 1 + 0= 1

If the number is less than 5, add five. Otherwise subtract 4.
Multiply it by 2

Subtract 6

Give the digit its corresponding letter in the alphabet (for example: 1=A, 2=B, 3=C, 4=D...26=Z, etc)

Pick a name of a country that begins with that letter.

Take the second letter in the country name and think of a mammal that begins with that letter.

Think of the most common color of that mammal.

DO NOT LOOK AT THE ANSWER UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL OF THE ABOVE STEPS IN ORDER!

ANSWER: A GRAY ELEPHANT FROM DENMARK!

After that step I think everyone should have 9.

due to the last few steps. multiply by 3 them square it..

(3x)² = 9x²

multiples of 9's digits always add up to 9. the rest is fluff.

And other countries beginning with d and animals beginning with e are hard to think of obviously.

Can I have another star? This is like doing GCSE's again.

Yes. The country should normally be Denmark and the rest just follows that. Obviously if some twat thinks of Djibouti then it's blown the whole deal :?

It is quite good of you do it to some one face to face, in the pub or whatever. It is actually quite impressive if you do it right.

No. Pay attention. If you had thought of Dubai as your country, you would have had to have thought of an animal beginning with the letter 'U', such as an.....errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.....whereas if you had thought of the Dominican Republic your animal would have had to begin with the letter 'O', such an Osterich or an Ocelot. Either way, you would have ruined the whole routine :?
