Surprising it is only a year though, I assume though that he got that extension through playing in x games last season though, he should be on a longer deal though, he is easily good enough for L1

Yes, it is good that he's signed but I am surprised it was only for a year. It has to be good news that the nucleus of the squad from last season are all signed up though.

yes pretty good news. had a decent season really. one year was probably just the appearance rule in his contract granted

I think you will find that his contract, along with one or two others was triggered by the appearance clause in this year's contract. If all goes well expect certain players to be on renegotiated deals just after Xmas!

I think Sturrock is being lumbered with a few he doesn't really want (hence the 1 year extensions). Not a problem for me though because I think he was one of our better players.

So Sturrock doesn't rate him? Surprising. Thinking about it though, he did have a little bit of a go a while back didn't he? Saying his form had dropped off and stuff. Hmmmmmm...I reckon Sturrock could be quite difficult to play for. Once he hasd decided he rates you, you can do no wrong. On the other hand, if you do something he doesn't like it can be virtually impossible to win him over again. That's Jocks for you I suppose

Sturrock is building a team of vocal, character players. Guys like Peacock and Corr, which is why he is going for players like Easton.
Jack Smith is a very quiet guy and if you watch his body language he's one of the first to feel sorry for himself. To me, Smith's a good player in a good, confident team.
Roberts is the same - when our team is flying, he's on his game, tormenting, winding up the opposition. When we're bad, he's much worse.
We need the 100% plus every week, never say die, players. Thats why I'm sorry Evans seems on the way out, but Sturrock seems to be targetting younger, fitter, never give up players.

Very good first post i think your spot on there...One thing i have noticed about sturrock is that all his ex players seem to like playing for him and alot of them seem to want to follow him where ever he goes. That is a good sign to me
