So the Polyphonic Spree's new album is out on June 19th. Half way through listening to what seems to be a pre-release leak. Not really that impressed so far. Seems like they've cut out all the big string and choir heavy happy bit's which make the second album so ace.

They've moved further away from the first album (which was plagued by playing all the instruments at the same time syndrome), to an extent that it's like Tim DeLawassihismane pretending he's still fronting the Tripping Daisies and then remembering to include the other 50 members every so often. It's getting better as I listen though.

Still nothing which approaches the ace happy tingling I got when I first listened to Hold Me Now. I guess a lot of people on here will never get past the slight cheesyness. But Together We're Heavy is a mint album.

Oooh it's getting better track 7+

If you like the first album you should definately get hold of the second. It's brilliant. It's like musical embodiment of happiness. Sort of like the first one without the badly planned instrumentals.

Fragile army, released on July 19th, will be their 3rd album. They also did the soundtrack to the film Thuimbsucker, which I've never seen or heard. There's an EP called Wait or something, which was released late last year. 3 covers and 2 songs which were originally supposed to be on the delayed 3rd album. I'm guessing they got shelved as B-Sides.

But yeah, if you liked the first album then Together We're Heavy will probably be the greatest thing you'll ever get hold of.

thats made my day, someone told me they had broken up after their first album and i've heard no more about them until today.

thankfully you are random enough to post the sprees new album release dates on a football forum. Soapy Tit Wank

Sonic likes being miserable, he'd like to be a goth but he can't quite cut it.
