So they are well aware that supporters outside of Swindon won't get any live coverage on the radio.

Fuck the fans, let's make money. Business as usual.

Starnes not allowed to reply in my opinion, probably not in full knowledge of the facts, although he is meant to be the acting chief executive!  As regards researching the financial information to enable the board to secure new investment I have two things to say on that.  One is that I can smell a distinct type of cooking - probably burnt and secondly to send that to Paul D. with regards to a new investor is simply inflammatory.  Two fingers stuck up there by Mr Holt!

What an absolute load of gash, Holt still talks shit doesn't he.....

Also is it just me or do you think he put that bit in about the new investor just to try and bait you fishing for a response Paul?

I'm sure Bob wouldn't stoop to such levels Sad  but I don't see that the overall tone of "Let them eat broadband" is going to do much to placate the many fans outside of Swindon who either don't have internet access or don't wish to pay out for the notoriously unreliable STFC World.

Typical Bob Holt unfortunately, I'm sure that Starnes was free to reply but Holt demanded he was allowed to actually do something for the first time in the last 6 months.........and there's nothing he likes better than trying to annoy our fans and the Trust, especially Paul.

Don't the trust have a rough idea of how many fans live out side of Swindon from that "How much money does the football club bring into Swindon survey" which was done a few years back?

I'm worried about the fans which aren't going to get to listen to...

Quote from: "Hob Bolt"

The commercial synergy between a commercial radio station and the Football Club is immeasurable. The BBC, by it’s own admission, is limited by it’s charter and consequently restricted in it’s ability to directly promote the Club. Whereas, on the other hand, with a commercial radio station as a partner the Club’s playing and non playing activities can be vigorously supported both during Radio Station’s programming and with dedicated advertisement campaigns plus of course co- promotional activity

Does this a mean a sort of you suck us off and we'll deposit a salty protein treat in your mouth sort of arrangement with Brunel FM?

IIRC the survey showed 55% of fans came from outside Swindon. It must be said the "commercial synergy" argument is a valid one but would carry considerably more weight if GWR - which is a much bigger station (and therefore more able to to provide such "synergy") and can be heard across a much greater range - had been invited to bid. As they weren't, this argument seems to be rather more of a specious post-facto justification for a decision taken for other reasons which we can only speculate about.

I trust you will appreciate there is a fine balance between providing a service to supporters and prudent financial housekeeping

Seems like a pretty fucking one sided balance if you ask me Bob, but thanks anyway!

Yep, I can see their point there, but I'm not sure what the point is when, as you say Paul, they didn't ask GWR. Also, surely the benefits of being on a station that goes beyond the boundaries of Wiltshire outweighs any commercial benefits that the limited range Brunel can offer ...?

To be honest, I don't care one jot who covers commentary, as long as you can hear it a fair distance from the town. As things stand, you can't, which is wrong.

I do care who does the commentary a bit. It had always been my dream to be the guest co-commentator with Ed. Now it'll never happen. They've ruined my dreams, and not even Martin Luther King had to suffer that.

Hardly - he said "let's make money". Holt and Co have never yet managed to achieve that and show no signs of doing so.
