Friday 25th May 2007
The Board would like to state that today's Swindon Advertiser carries a rather misleading headline and report indicating that Paul Sturrock has asked the Club for more money to fund his football budget for next season. This is not the case.
Paul is perfectly content to work within the substantial budgetary framework that has been established for the 2007/2008 campaign. However, this does not preclude the Club from working with Paul to sign as many of his primary targets as it possibly can.
Before going on holiday with his family today, Paul did have a previously scheduled meeting with the owners of the Club last night which was very constructive and as expected, concluded with complete agreement on the strategy ahead. Cheers Land of Bo, nothing like a comical statement |

Next statement we shall be seeing is.."We do not know who the fan's consortium are"  Sturrock is now on holiday though so won't see the website / adver so can't contradict them. Sounds too me though that are trying to kick the new boy into shape at the adver so he only reports what they want him to report and try and make him look a fool by denying his story...although they are making themselves look fools very easily as well all know it is bollox |

It is odd why they feel compeled to issue these statements - it is not the norm for a professional outfit, most would ignore it true or not but this lot feel they have to put their own slant on it.
They are just digging themselves into an even deeper hole.
