There were 5000 reported fake tickets so thats 5000 cunts for a start. You'd have though of all the fans in the world these idiots would realise the danger of too many people in a stadium.

That said Policing of English fans generally sucks and Uefa deserve a portion of the blame for the pathetic ticket allocation and ridiculous stadium choice.I really cant see why these things arent alway held in the 2-3 biggest Stadiums in Europe(obviously not at the same time :| )

Good posting. Stadiums with an 75,000+ capacity should be used for the European Cup final. It's going to be interesting next year, as the final is in Russia, with a 85,000 capacity, and due to the fact Russia is not in the EU, fans will need visas to get into the country.

At the stadium in Athens, there was NO turnstiles, so as soon as you got through security, you were in the stadium. Great security for the European Cup final.

All i can say is that you didnt see scenes like this in Paris the year before when Arsenal lost to Barcelona ... or people mugging each other for tickets.  I think UEFA are right and remember it was Liverpool fans that caused English teams to be banned for ages from Europe

Disagree Macca, for a club that has been fighting the Yorkshire Police force (legally) about events at Hillsborough you'd think they'd know how to behave in reference to trying to get in to stadiums without tickets.

What is it with this day and age that you can act like idiots but then blame the authorities, take some responsibilty for your actions!

Football, despite what Shankley stupidly said, is not more important than life or death, it's a fucking game and mugging your own fans to watch a match is beyond believe.

I understand where your coming from jan but lets be fair the ticketing was a fucking joke.Let football fans have tickets stop giving them to any old cunt who has posted a leaflet on behalf of fifa then maybe we would never have these problems.

Wheres the dossier on milan ? valencia etc There is not one because all of a sudden english clubs are reaching finals again and they dont like it

my point was the ticketing was a joke last year when Arsenal played Barca in the final ... but there were no bad scenes or mugging people for tickets then was there? Im afraid Liverpool have to admit to some responsibility here.

I understand your points on the poor organisation and ticketing tho - its a disgrace throughtout football

I think a good reason there is more trouble with English teams a nd Liverpool in particular (based on arrests etc) is trhe shear volume of support, no other countries outside of Britain have the numbers travelling, and common sense dictates the more fans that go, the more arrests will be made.

Celtic took over 30,000 to Seville to the UEFA Cup final (which they lost) and yet no trouble at all.

Your arguement is flawed.

While some of the Liverpool supporters did get a bit out of hand, this is the daftest quote I've heard in a while.

"You must ask yourself why at the Champions League, with the same conditions, there was no trouble with the Milan fans - only the Liverpool fans" William Gaillard, UEFA.

...Perhaps because all the Milan fans were stuck in Italy because of the Al Italia strike?
