It's amazing that when Liverpool get to any final, forged tickets are very quickly produced, and fans buy them.

The security at Athens was shocking, when a group of fans can jump over security fences to get into the ground. Absolute joke.

...So lets all jump on the bandwagon and slate all Liverpool fans because a small minority got drunk and caused trouble against the poor Milan fan's who were God's angels no doubt.

its all that bollox about them being the best fans in the world that the tabloids hype up endlessly leading up to games like this that fucks me off.

spot on

They're the best fans in England no question.

Based on what though? if it was atmosphere I would be more inclined to say Portsmouth they get behind there team from start to finish singing throughout games.  Will never forget that game when they got murdered by Arsenal and all you could hear is Portsmouth fans singing they even gave Henry a standing ovation when he come off.

Yeah but Portsmouths fans have only been like that since they've been doing well.

Liverpool fans have always generated an excellent atmosphere.

Yep Pompey fans are pretty good IMHO.  Geordies used to be loud but they've gone all soft since the Prem came into being and they got in.  Not sure if they still do, but they used to have the highest proportion of people in the clubs Town/City who owned the clubs shirt.

Any Carlisle or Torquay fans that travel to away games should get a mention

Yes probably a fair comment but must say they have impressed me as fans that don't get on there teams back when there losing, tend to stay with them throughout the game.

It annoys me when people say Sunderland and Newcastle fans are great because as we have seen in the last couple of years when there doing poorly the grounds end up having plenty of empty seats.

St James' Park at 36,000 was withour doubt the best for atmosphere in England, now it has gone to 52,000 pretty poor to be honest.
Away from home superb and very hard to get a ticket for, even though the team is shite

Every Club has a small percentage of scumbags following them, it makes sense that the larger the club, the more twats they attract.

It's not an English problem, you only have to see reports from Holland, Italy, Germany, etc, etc.

The focus on English Clubs in general, and Liverpool in particular, is bollocks.

The notion of 'best fans' is pretty speculative - loudest maybe, but quantify best - being a prem fan is pretty easy, ticket prices aside, what makes a Liverpool fan any better than a torquay fan, except that they are in greater numbers.  I agree that of the big 4 Liverpool fans seem to generate the best atmosphere for home matches.  My mate a villa fan says Birmingham City aside Man Utd have the 'best' ad loudest away following (and he hates united).  I will agree though that Pompey in my memory have always been loud and plentiful - despite me generally disliking the place and the club for no apparent reason.
