Indeed - I can see why though he's a suverner, so mightn't have fancied an oop north club but I'd have thought Everton or Newcastle for example would have offered him a better 'big club' progression where he'd actually play plenty of games - if he plays he'll get an England debut by Christmas though.

I have had this debate somewhere else but since he got to the premier league he has been one of the lowest paid players at reading,Right from the begining he has been honest with reading and now chelsea have came in for him.Imo its a no brainer you cannot blame him at all people moan and say that players should want to win medals and trophys,surely chelsea is a good place to do this? Luck just haves it that they have alot of money to throw at him aswell Fair play to him |

You would think he would learn from other young players on the back of a good season moving to the big teams. Waste of talent sitting on the bench.
Maybe him and SWP can play rock, paper, scissors on the bench or something.

It's going to turn out for him like it did for Scott Parker, never really playing before eventually being moved on (either at request or being sold) Shame as he's a good player.

As soon as he became aware that teams like Chelsea,Newcastle & Everton were sniffing around him he knew he could possibly get an extra £10-20k a week on top of whatever his current wage at Reading was! I can't blame him for wanting more money but i thought the whole point of being a professional Footballer was to actually play the game that you're being paid for? |
