"That was the ideal way to finish. I really wanted to finish on a high and fortunately we got promoted so it was a brilliant way to say goodbye really.

It was difficult on the last day because obviously we were all really excited about getting promoted but then there was a little bit of sadness for me because i've enjoyed some good times there."

You got a good player on your hands with him and i believe he will go on to be a very good player given the right coaching

Not sure mate. He said he hopes to see some action next season at some stage for us but with Vaughan,  Anichebe, McFadden, Johnson and hopefully David Nugent ahead of him...I think he'll be out on loan.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if he was back playing for you in League One.

Anyone heard anything about a possible friendly this summer as part of the deal?

It was mentioned at an STFC supporters trust  fundraising event that there was an option of a friendly.

Nothing out of the club regarding this though so who knows. Presumably your first team will be off to some far flung land for most of the pre-season so  maybe it's proving difficul to fit in? No offence but an Everton second 11 wouldn't really excite me.

Wouldn't excite me either! I'm in Bristol so would probably be coming if there was a friendly arranged.

We were meant to have a friendly arranged with Cambridge United when we signed John Ruddy in May 2005. 2 years later and nothing's happened on that front....
