right, a bit of advice needed...

the street i live in is all residents parking, i don't have a permit since i don't have a car, but i do have a big stack of these visitors permits which you can scratch off one day on and stick them on you dash board and its all OK.

now, in southampton, they are cunts. the wardens come round first thing in the morning - i rented a motor last weekend and got a ticket at 10am on saturday because i hadn't got round to putting a new permit in (my fault, but really if i had one from the day before alredy displayed surely the bastards could have worked out that i probably have some others and could have given me a bit of leeway since i hadn't managed to struggle out of the fart sack yet).

So what do I do ?  I'm tempted to just fill in another permit, post it to them and tell them their warden must be blind - although I wouldn't put it past the bastards to take photos or something now.   If I appeal and they tell me to piss off and it takes more than 14 days they will stick the fine up from 30 to 60 quid.

other alternatives are pay 30quid now; or pay nothing and end up getting charged 60 quid plus probably a fee off of the rental company for sending them my details; or find a traffic warden and get a bit jack bauer on his bitch arse (won't get me out of the ticket, but if his head is on a stick at the end of my road it might warn his mates off)

Pay the fine. My housemate in Southampton kept using visitors permits but sometimes forgot and picked up a few fines. Nothing you can do about it really. Save yourself money in the long run and pay the £30.

For £30 I think I'd pay then bitch about after?  It's not like a speeding ticket where there points on the licence too.  Pretty much impossible to wriggle out of I'm afraid - I live in a ressies are too thankfully I have off road parking but it's an abslute arse to access, I would'nt risk my motor in the timed areas for more than 15 mins outside the specified times just by seeign the numebr of tickets on cars around the area.  that said my GF lives 5 mins away and regualrly flaunts the rules - shift working is not easy for parking in the street and she seems to get away with it a lot.

i'm sure you all speak the truth, just winds me up paying the cnuts 30 quid for basically being lazy for an hour.  I'm sure if the night before you put a permit in for the day after they would ticket you for having two permits in or something !   they'll have to also get a snotty letter for my 30 quid though.

I live quite near st mary's stadium, never seen a warden around nearer to the end of a match because they know full well they will get turned over by fans - they just sneak around catching residents out cause its easy money.

...actually, how did they prove it was your dashboard ?  presumably they can't get close enough to show the details of the ticket and your reg plate in a single photo ?

and send a letter saying i have paid but if my appeal is succesful i want the money back ?  Probably won't work but if it causes enough chaos to mean that it wastes about 30 quids worth of a council workers time I will consider that a success.  I like it !

i sent an appeal for parking on outside my place in bournemouth. was single yellows and no parking between 10-7, look at the photos of your car when they go up on the website (should say on the ticket) and see what the evidence actually is. i had been done once by these cunts before but im a student and £30 is a gd nite out so i brought a car battery, photocopied the receipt then took it back with full refund. i sent that off to the appeal and said i had a flat battery and couldnt move the car to anywhere suitable. it worked and £30 tasted brilliant  Beers

nice, although somehow i don't think saying i had a flat battery would work on a new rented car with 56 plates on  (...mind you, it was a peugot...).

No website on this though, would assume if you actually want to see the evidence they will stick you for an administrative charge on top.

not sure what ur ticket was like but for me it said a web address where you it says u can appeal, mine was obviously bournemouth borough council just do a search on google. it will ask you to type in your penalty charge notice number then it will open up your case and you can see the photographic evidence. if the pics dont show enough just blag it. i only used a battery as it actually went a few months before and gave me an idea, you could make up something else..

In that case, you can blame the electrics, the clutch, the gearbox or the driveshafts and probably anything else you can think of!
