Is it possible?

I've heard that as long as you haven't de-fragged then the fragment of the file is still on your PC...

Help much appreciated...

I've recovered lots before, can't remeber the names of the programs though, but i remeber i downloaded them as freeware from www.snapfiles.com

Defragging does almost nothing on NTFS, so shouldn't really matter, it's FAT32 where defragging has an effect.

With NTFS, if you've been doing alot of work or adding programs and data then it will generally write over the info pretty sharpish.

The only way i've ever recovered data is stop doing everything and try to recover immediately, otherwise, it could well be lost.

Just browsed Snapfiles and can't find the program i used. I have used PC Inspector File Recovery before, but can't recall recovering with it? I did recover some files with Restoration as well, but from what i remember that is a pretty basic standalone executable.

I use Easy Recovery Professional. Brilliant program, you need to pay for it unless you can find it somewhere free.

You can even recover files from a completely reformatted drive.

If it has been deleted. Is it not in the saved games folder? Might just be a corrupted file, in which case the game is lost.

You need to format the drive something like 10 times for the files to actually be wiped - so with the right software you can always recover files

I use FreeUndelete and it does the job.

It saved me from total outright failure this year...
