My Dad has watched Bournemouth a few times and seems to thing Fletch should be at Weymouth - a player who's past his best but could still do a job at quite a good level - that said now they've been promoted he could do a decent job at Salisbury too.  Too slow for league footy but invaluable experience for a newly promoted premiershit team.

Bircham's just like Weston - too much flair and dribbling from centre mid - and blue and white hair, never good.

Adver's got a piece in today saying they're doing a transfer rumours article tomorrow (getting desperate) with a picture of a Bournemouth player next to it....no idea who it is though

I would say possibly James Hayter but hes gone to Doncaster aint he? If the board could stump up the reddies he would be a good signing imho.

he is still on holiday Tans. The bid was accepted from Doncaster, they are waiting a decsion from Hayter in the next week or so. I would not mind him down here. Scored quite a lot a goals including a 9 min hat trick against Wrexham i think. around 3 1/2 years ago.

Jason Tindall is in charge at Weymouth - so that could be a decent shout. As long as he doesn't join us, I'm happy - we can get better.

Most important of all - He doesn't score enough goals.

Weymouth have already spoken tothem - Jason Tindall is player/coach there so it figures they're in with a shout. I'd be dissapointed if he came here - we've got to aim higher than that

When you think about available strikers though...there really aren't many realistic frees that'll score goals.

Realistically we need to be looking at league 2 strikers who are out of contract and unlike some want the career progression rather than the cash - and see working here under Sturrock as a good career move at a higher level IMHO.

I think Steve Adams is near enough a done deal, otherwise Evans would have been offered an extension.

Other notable players of interest that have been released:

Danny Granville
Michael Hughes
Anthony Kay
Noel Whelan
Eifion Williams

Like who? Easter, Platt, Murray, Dagnall, Bishop....a lot of them are shorties that PS won't go for. Easter's probably got bigger plans than Div 3

I suspect more the older player, no real names in mind, players like Easter are miles out of our league - platt I don't much rate but I see him to be the type of player we might look at.  IMHO we could do better - Corr for example is a better prospect.  I just back Sturrock to pick up the correct player - it might be an absolute unknown from France - I just hope it's someone really quick, like others have said Jo Kuffour might be worth a look.  In other words I have no idea - I don't play football manager so I'm not privileged to such advanced knowledge.

The thisisstfc rumour mill is horrible.

GOALKEEPERS:

They suggest Sturrock might by tempted to sale Brez and suggest...

Neil Cutler & Andy Oakes

DEFENDERS:

Craig Woodman (shit)

Karl Broadhurst (injury prone)

Mickey Bell (injury prone, fat, old, City favourite)

MIDFIELDERS:

Steve Adams (Nice one Sherlock)

Marc Bircham (Decent shout)

Marcus Browning (No thanks)

Michael Leary (Don't know much about him)

Sean Thornton (Would probably want to join a Northern club)

STRIKERS:

Steve Fletcher (Fat, old, doesn't score enough)

Lee Matthews (Are they joking?)

Peter Thorne ("How Town fans would love to see Thorney back at the County Ground" - No thanks)

Paul Furlong (No thanks - we don't want a "last hurrah" player)

That legends charity game is really a trial match with Sturrock having a look at what he can bring in!

Danny Graham been released by Boro. Always thought he was a good young striker but never got the chance.

Hmm surprised they released him - I'd think Carlisle will sign him permanently with Hawley likely to walk away as a contract-expiree...

I'd love either of them to come here, but highly unlikely...

Hawley's now left Carlisle and is being linked with ex-manager Paul Simpson at Preston...

Carlisle are now in negotiations with Danny Graham...
