Just got back. Was only a 1 hour 15 min sketch. I honestly didn't find him that funny and one joke i thought was abit boarderline. He was talking about pop groups who were one hit wonders and he said Bin Laden was also one. Then he said ''well Bin Laden is more like a 2 hit wonder''

I got tickets last week for Ricky Gervias at Colston Hall, Brizzle, in June. Enjoy Frank, bet he'll be pissed! I just got a couple as well. You going on the saturday or the friday? As I've said in previous threads, Gervais was disappointing. At least it can be crossed of the list.

I've only been to a few stand-up shows. I've never found them brilliant, due to the fashion for foul language and dodgy subjects, although I realise that's partly the point.
I guess the enjoyment factor comes as much with the people you go with and the level of drunkeness involved, but that's a fine balance as well.

I'll reserve judgement until I see him. I still want to see Jack Dee live at some stage.

Si, Animals and politics had me in tears. It was as if this one was just a routine. Perhaps I had high expectations because of the previous ones. I found Will Smith, his warm up act, funnier. But this is my opinion. You might be different..

Still it'll probably be more entertainment than Hereford vs Swindon and cheaper too

I maintain that Bill Bailey is the best stand up ever - mad a windows love the bloke. Gervais was OK, better than my low expectations, but only just - some good gags but nothing massivley special comapred to soem stand-ups I've seen.
