As the club haven't seen fit to do a survey/vote on the club website of whether we would like to groundshare with Rovers, as Rovers did with their fans, we thought we'd best do one. If only to get some real figures behind the "Everyone's opposed to/in favour of/wildly indifferent about a groundshare" debate.

Have your say here:

They did a piss poor poll, there was no option to leave general comments.

Are you sure you're not confusing it with the Adver poll which had roughly the same figures? I certainly didn't see one on the OS and I read it every day - if there was, apologies for the innacuracy, but they must have taken it down damn quick!

Survey results now in: out of over 300 votes, 86% are against, with 72% strongly against.

I find it hard to believe that so many people are ‘allegedly’ against the ground share idea.

Why, only last week I was at a meeting at what I guess STFC would describe as a residents consultation about the ground share. It involved Sandy Grey, the 3 Central councillors myself as secretary of the community council and one other resident.

Imagine my utter surprise when one of the first things we were told was that according to a 'supporters group’ (no name given) they were 80% in favour of a ground share going ahead.

So who has got their figures wrong?

Sandy Gray and percentage figures in the same sentence don't work - ask Customs and Excise :-))(

You misheard, Kevin. Sandy doesn't talk up very well.

She said "8%".

I have reason to suspect that Sandy might be short for Sanford

Sandy and getting her figures wrong go hand in hand.

Just ask Customs and see the budget figures for the first two years of the CVA... and she's supposed to be the clubs 'Finance Director.'

Personally I wouldn't put her in charge of petty cash !!!

As others have pointed out, Sandy isn't great with numbers but even so! Of the various supporters' groups they could ask, they've not formally asked the Trust for our views but we've made it plain we're opposed to it; likewise I understand the Supporters' Club have also made it clear to Sandy they are not in favour. Loud and Proud don't take a stance on stuff like this, so it can't be them, maybe they asked the Disabled Supporters Group.

As for the 80%, to my knowledge there's only been two surveys done: one by us which showed well over 80% against, and one by the Adver which last I checked was running at 82% of over 2000 votes against.

Basically I can't see any way Sandy could have been genuinely under the impression that 80% of any supporters group was in favour of this ridiculous idea. Which raises the prospect that she's misled local residents groups and councillors as part of the "consultation". Nice.

Mind you, I suppose it's small beer after the AGM "the CVA has been paid" stuff, but it hardly helps local residents feel they can trust the club does it?
