Let's think about it,............. promotion with Swindon or relegation with Leeds United......I think he is thinking that promotion with Swindon would have been more enjoyable, and that he will always be remembered for being the manager associated with Leeds United's fixtures against Port Vale, Northampton, and the local derby against Huddersfield.

Wise was probably thinking ...

"I think I'll give Robert Bayly his full debut today, he won't do anything stupid."  Wink

Wise is merely a small part in our history, 15 league games in a 46 game campaign is nothing.

I was more than annoyed when he and Poyet jumped ship to Leeds United... But regardless of the shambolic happenings behind-the-scenes at Swindon - I firmly believe that from the very start it was Wise's intention to join Ken Bates at Leeds whenever the the post was made available - Power's departure just made it easy.

Other than when he brings Leeds or whoever he's managing to the County Ground the "banter" will be most appropriate - but it's really time to move on.

As far as I am concerned, Wise did a good job for us in the short time he was here.

He got the players fit, organized, brought in a pair of absolutely cracking keepers and generally left us in good shape.

And we got Sturrock who is a much better long term prospect than Wise. I think we did rather well out of the whole thing!

Agree with OST here.

It is however quite funny thet Wise couold have been promoted into League 1 with us rather than relegated with Leeds and would have looked a whole lot better

I think that we might be missing a factor here.

Wise moved after the season had started. So he had done his team building groundwork and pre season training, which to my mind was very very good. Where we were after the first half a dozen games?

Sturrock picked up the pieces and did his best with what he was given, even though it didn't fit his model.

Wise was in the same boat when he got to Leeds.

Yeah, we can slag him off for moving (although I don't really blame him after finding out what a twat our General Manager is) but he was doing the biz when he was here.

I'm not the biggest Sturrock fan but i'll give him a clean slate seeing as he will be able to bring in his own players for next season instead of inheriting somebody elses squad.
