There are countless examples over the past couple of seasons. Cuereton, Trevor Benjaman, Deon Burton. I thought of about 10 earlier but now I have come back from the pub only those 3 are left in my brain. It is true though. Cuereton is the best example he couldn't even get in our side now he is top scorer in the Championship. I think it has something to do with lack of creativity in our midfield.

In the old days it used to be the other way around strikers used to be good for us then they would leave and other teams would find out they were actually crap like Craig Maskell or steve Finney.

Am I making sense I am a bit pissed. Beers

Cureton isnt a fair example, because he was playing shit for us on purpose so we would get relegated so he could get out of his contract and fuck off to Colchester

Guess what? thats exactly what the little cunt did.

He wasn't shit for us once he got picked it was only kingy didn't pick him. Maybe Kingy wanted to get us relegated so that he could move to Grays which is in Essex the same county as Colchester. It is all begining to make sense

Pretty much agree with that, in fact, most either seem to fade or do no more than tread water....there are a couple of notable exceptions, namely Jack Howarth and Ray Clarke.

Howarth,  we got as a youngster from Chelsea around 63, he played a couple of games in 64, but was not considered up to it...he moved on to Aldershot and scored something like 180 goalsfor them in about 400+ appearances in 2 spells...think he was their all time leading scorer when they went bust.   Of course Howarth mainly scored in Div 4, but we spoent a lot of that time in Div 3.

Clarke, we got from the traditional Spurs source, he scored a couple, in Div 2 in about a dozen matches....but was not thought good enough and moved on to Mansfield....he became prolific, and Feyenoord signed him, I think he then was leading scorer in Erie Divisie, and got a move to Ajax, then Bruges before returning to England, for spells at Brighton (then probablytop flight and Newcastle.

Mike Summerbee maybe? Although maybe more of a winger.

Buzzer scored 39 in 218 appearances for us and 47 in 355 for City....definitely a winger who scored a few.
