I'd keep quiet about being a Swindon fan in that shithole of a city mate.

Fuck that ... I live here. Had Swindon sticker in the back of my car for years and haven't had a spot of trouble. Some 'friendly' gestures from the Rovers boys this year, but I give it back, and we all drive off smiling!!!

I'm moving to South Bristol in September.

I wear my Swindon shirt in the summer when I'm visiting the missus' parents in Knowle West - hell, I watched the Swindon vs. Lincoln game in Bedminster. Shitty fans generally couldn't give a shit about Swindon other than during the build-up to a fixture with us. Some kids hate Swindon because we were a substitute for the Gas when we shared L1 status with them.

I look forward to moving to Bristol - it's only 40 minutes on the train to Swindon ... Considering it's about the same from Westbury (which also has a changeover) - it's as close as I've ever lived to the County Ground!

Where abouts in Bristol you moving to Irish?

Students are better than Chavs or blacks. Students won't rob or stab you. They are too pissed. And there are lots of fit students birds who don't wear much this time of year.

you have raised an interesting debate. Why is It ok to have a go at one group of people but not at another? Begs the question whats the difference? It is only a question of fashion. 20 years ago it was normal to discriminate against black people. There were even characters like Alf Garnet on tele at 7 in the evening. Today it is a little bit taboo.  Maybe 20 years time it will be bad to have a go at chavs.

By the way you are welcome to go for a walk in St Pauls in Bristol or say Brixton in London at night and see if you get stabbed. I was not being racist only observing the satus quo. A lot of black kids do carry knives on our streets.

fashion is a choice, just like a bad haircut. the colour of your skin is not. thats the difference.
