better than he even showed here ..

Why do you think that fatbury? If he was better than he showed then surely he would have shown it.?

I dont know if you knew or not but I coached a junior team down at Highworth for 8 years .. he was my keeper for 4 of them (under 9 to u 13 before he joined Chelsea School of Excellence) .. so I know what hes capable of -

How many professional keepers have you trained at that level? Got many others to compare him with.

I'd have thought that especially with keepers there's only certain amount of potential to see when they're that young. There's a lot of development left to do, physical and mental, and keepers don't tend to peak until there late 20's anyway.

Fatbury, do you claim to know everyone to do with Swindon?

Not at all Ralphy ...

Ill explain tho - obviously know Rhys as explained above ..

Paul Trollope used to help me out with the coaching during the early 90s (we were in the same school team at Highworth in OUR younger days) - he was in Swindon reserves then before he went on to Torquay Fulham Derby etc

I know a few of the club staff - as you know I went to Ibiza with some of them ...

But another  of my players made it to pro level as well ... (Shane Duff - Cheltenham) plus a lot of them play at local level as well for teams such as Highworth, Cirencester etc

Im also friends with Steve Slattery - England Masseur (who was a fellow coach and now chairman at Highworth Juniors)

As a result of these links I have a few contacts in the game who drip feed me stuff occasionally - its not always accurate but sometimes it is ... Sonic said show him something that was correct the other day - I checked back and I have been correct on stuff before ... I dont mind if people heckle or criticise me tho .. its a forum and im old enough and big enough to take it ... obviously Id prefer if it they didnt but thats life ....

Hope that clarifies things for you

Oh and I nearly forgot ... my ex girlfriend Amy is a chief football writer at the Observer now

Thats a pretty fair point Ben - I occasionally drove him to goalkeeper coaching schools run by the FA so I know he was pretty good for that age

And at Schoolboy level he was England Number 1 and Paul Robinson (YES THE PAUL ROBINSON) was only number 2 keeper ..

But you are right I guess re development ... Im just biased when it comes to Rhys

the difference between local footy and cofe-academy is massive.
players that look amazing at local level mostly look like fish out of water when trialed at pro clubs.
having said that evans must have been awesome as a kid to play at the level he did

I did a good few years managing/coaching etc....in local league youth  football.   Came across the likes of Holgate, Zebroski, David Stroud,  Chris Taylor and Leigh Henry, there may be more.

Have to say that none of them struck me as being all that, as kids, and none of them have made it much further than Marine.....in fact Zebroski not even that high being at O*frod.

Of the bunch Stroud impressed me the most, simply because he was comfortable with the ball.
