Well the day before they were nowhere near that...so unless they had a mad rush on the Tuesday....someone's fibbed somewhere along the line.

From the Walsall OS from a few weeks back:

Quote
SWINDON TOWN v WALSALL - SATURDAY, MAY 5TH (KICK-OFF 3.00pm)

Walsall fans have been allocated 1325 covered seats in the Arkells Stand and approximately 2000 un-covered seats in the Stratton Bank Stand.

I think they weren't given the whole of the bank to start with, but have been now.

At least I hope so anyway.

I'll speak to my mate at work in the morning, he works in the ticket office on matchdays so he should know what's going on.

If the allocation of another block of the arkells to them is true then it is farcical.

I'm 95.68% sure there would have been demand for those seats from STFC fans.

Apart from the Brummie ranting they are basing it off the Walsall site saying earlier that the original allocation of 3000 odd was sold out, coupled with the seeming inability to book the block in the arkells next to the away fans (via our online ticketing).

I'm still assuming the Walsall official site was wrong and said block is the netted off section.

I read "allocation sold out" as allocation sold out though Batch, seemingly someone else has read it as "we've been given a 600-seat back hander"

I don't think I understand your point DMR. Must be getting towards my bed time.

I think their official site stated that the 3000 odd seats for the Arkells and Bank were gone (i.e. total capacity) and then something appeared later saying they had  another 600 tickets - which would put it well over what the away allocation can hold.

As I said much earlier, I think it more likely that the bank had in fact not been fully allocated and the 600 tickets have taken it up to capacity.

I'm sure there are segregation laws that mean they have to net off almost as many seats again, making it financially stupid to sell home seats to Walsall.

I'm not sure I like Walsall fans they seem to think it's their god given right to get more tickets given to them at the expense of home supporters. Also slagging us off for not having sold out yet, yes I mean their home support is fucking great isn't it. They always bring up the living in the shadow of a big club argument but Swindon suffers from a lack of Swindon fans due to the cummuter element to the town.

I like glos, he's one angry dude  Cool

I think the game will be sold out pretty much before the weekend. I just hope the lads perform on the day and we will have something to cheer about. I honestly couldn't care about their support right now.
