We would need to spend, spend, spend IF we got promoted into the championship.

Our current squad is nowhere near championship standard.

Sturrock is right when he says even the Championship is running away financialy from the bottom 2 leagues.

So what about Colchester, gates of 5k and just outside the play-offs.

Colchester have a better side than us.

Sorry but it's true.

Can't help feeling that colchester will come unstuck soon enough, these days they are not sustainable at their size in their current ground.  In the short term Swindon could easily be pushing for the play offs to the championship- then once the stadium is up together I think we should be a lower championship side if crowds pick up.

No shit Ralphy, that's why they are 2 divisions above us! I think the point was how do they survive at that level when they get such shit gates. At least it we were in the championship we would probably get crowds of around 12000

Their ground only holds about 6,000.

Their having a new stadium built.

That would explain it...even so, if they can't fill a 6000 capacity ground when they are on the verge of the play-offs..!

All it takes is for a 20+ goalscorer (or 2) to join STFC and we will have a promotion push.

Blair Sturrock sounds so much like his pop it's silly.
