It was pretty embarressing. I liked the "where's Carson?" negative approach by The Championship though.

Agree that it was embarrassing, but from the Boards point of view a sucessful bit of publicity.....attention on Carson, who is merely a figurehead, no mention of any discontent from the fans....nothing on the orange protest etc....no questions about CVA payments or posible 10 point deductions.
So as far as they're concerned its carry on as usual....delay and then the summer/.

Laughed out loud when he said he wouldn't mind an approach from an American or Russian. Wasn't it Holt (or Starnes) who tried to belittle the Consortium by saying he's heard it was backed by an American!!

Summed Carson up getting to the ground with 15 minutes left, what an absolute tool....loved the interview with a supporter that slated Willie good they put that on....
Also again the board have publicly said they are open to offers which is either good news for the consortium or another own goal by the board

I really don't like the bloke. He just does not seem interested. It was embarrassing to watch.

As if it's common practise for a Chairman to have better things to do on a Saturday, such as "working lunches". I also didn't believe him when he said he tried to get Arabic interest in - I doubt he tried very hard at all.

If I was chairman of a club I would want to be there to see what was happening. How can he possibly have an opinion on how well Sturrock is doing without even seeing what goes on?!
For all he knows we could have a Championship quality side with a donkey of a manager who can't even win this league with it!
(Not that that's the case!)

Starnes said "I think most clubs are open to offers under the right circumstances"
carson was on a working lunch at Newbury races, arrived at about 4.40ish and just to rub it in ITV did a close up on the Stratton bank clock to show the time he arrived
Carson was interviewed after and said,
Reporter "weren't going to miss this one were you"
Carson "No I wanted to get here hopefully have some good news have some champagne, but as you can see no champagne on ice still, were gonna persevere....and hopefully that somebody will come along.
Reporter "so you're open to offers?"
Carson "We'd like a Russian or an American but I don't think one of them will come along"
Reporter "You know a few of those Arab racing tycoons"
Carson "tried that, tried that........ basically Swindon Town is a championship team"
Reporter "Thinking big, sparkles still there thats good to see"
Carson "Yes the sparkles still there"
Then he does some weird thumbs up gesture and thats it really.........bit of a bellend
