over a weekend when all the teams play once.

I figured 92 league games means 46 matches with an average football league attendance of about 10,000 plus a bit more for non-league makes about half a million.

Obviously fluctuates a bit towards end and start of season getting more but does that sound like a fair estimate or have I fucked up somewhere?

Having a conversation with my egg-chasing fan mate.

Presumably the 10,000 FL average is raised to half a mill with the non league clubs by the massive O*frod  crowds for this season....

I think I might have been being slightly conservative with 10,000. I think the ratio's to 10,000 in the premiership compared to league 2 are probably slightly in favour to the prem. Same with Championship/L1 but not as much. Maybe 10,500 - 11,000 would be more accurate but 10,000 is simpler.

I didn't bother checking the non-league stat's but I figured a 2000 average wouldn't be too much. Plus you've got all the leagues below.

like the unashamed geek i am i've looked up stats:

92 teams - average attendance (halved cos they can't play home and away at the same time - unless the ground share goes through):

Prem: 325,000
Champ: 229,000
Lge 1: 89,000
Lge 2: 48,000

equates to nearly 700,000 people who go to watch league football every week. I don't count non-league, i hear they have shite university towns playing in them.

Of course Town are top of league 2 and interestingly would not be last in the championship.

Good work. We'd be second bottom in the championship though. It's only because Colchester are shit.
