in what context? Does it matter? I'm doing my dissertation, basically, on the beautiful game within the United States. In my opening chapter I talk about the general globalisation of the game and mention something along the lines of that by the early 20th century the popularity of soccer was so immense that lesser known teams like Swindon Town, who travelled to Uruguay and Argentina, and Exeter City who were the first team to play the Brazilian national team visited South America to play various exhibition matches. |

I got a 2:1 for my dissertation and probably my entire degree (that's not confirmed but the dissy should have sealed the result) Woop Woop. Lesson: If anyone ever writes a dissertation, book, shopping list - mention Swindon. |
