Did anyone go and see this lot at the Oasis on Saturday night.  I did, they were pretty good musically, but lack a hell of a lot of personality.

"Hi we're Kings of Leon, ....thank you Swindon....  thank you for appreciating music..."

Nothing to make it feel unique.  Just one date on a long tour.  Shame really as like I say their music deserves better.

Love their new song "on call"

I saw that tour 2 years ago too, 'Thankyou this is the best gig we've ever played in Swindon'  as much charisma as a hole-punch!

They're a bit good though, regardless of their lack ofc enthusiasm!

I went two years ago too, I wasn't going to bother on Saturday but my mate had a spare ticket.

They didn't play red morning light again either.  Bastards.

I thought they were damn ace last time. They're not exactly your sort of band to put on a 'show' and it is Swindon ffs - what did you expect?

A little interaction with the crowd that had paid £25 to see them, that's all.

Kings of Leon: Woooo! Hello Swindon!

Janaage: Yeah! Woo!

Kings of Leon: It's great to be here!

Janaage: Yeah! Woo! They like it here, maybe they'll move here and be my best friend.

Kings of Leon: You're a great crowd!

Janaage: Yeah! Woo! They think that I'm great...I think they're my new best friends

Kings of Leon: Thanks for spending  25 of your English pounds

Janaage: My pleasure

Rest of crowd: Fuckin' get on with it!

Funnily enough, the first 4 lines of your Kings of Leon script is exactly what they said, which made it fucking shit.

BUt like i said their music was top notch, which is what counts I s'pose.

Most band "interaction" these days is to complain about George Bush or cruelty to animals etc - which is all well and good but not when people have paid money to watch a gig.

I saw KoL at Plymouth Pavillions in 2005: they didn't interact (except a brief "it's good to be in Plymouth of the 4th of July" sentence) but musically they were superb - especially in the horrible venue that is the Plymouth Pavillions.

Exactly RP - the best gig I ever saw was orbital and they hardly said a word all night - but it was an awesome night, then I've been to other gigs when the band have been really interactive and it is really nice but tbh only if they actually mean it, Kings of Leon seem like the kind of band who are on soem endless European tour primarily to satisfy their record label and any interaction would probably really false.

Foo fighters were the best "interactors" I've seen, but then again Grohl is a top class entertainer.  Music was shit hot too.
