Quote from: "Reg Smeeton"

I don't think its the technicalities withinn the CVA that are the problem, rather the football authorities see effectively reneging on an existing CVA...is in their terms meaning you gain an unfair advantage over other clubs so must be sanctioned.

I've never seen anything about Conn....but you'd have thought an in depth piece on STFC would be right down his street.

I see what you mean Reg, but I don't think coming out of one CVA into another (if that's how it's viewed) could be seen as gaining an unfair advantage - if it was surely any team gaining any extra investment could be seen to be doing the same. (if all legal, obviously)

It's because of Leicester and the way they utterly played the game as it was then by getting promoted back to the Prem when they were effectively broke by going into admin, wiping off a load of debts, restructuring their wages etc and managed to keep their best players in the process.  It's the reason the 10 point penalty now exists, to prevent clubs from using corporate insolvency techniques to keep them artificially performing.  If someone wants to chuck cash at a club, that's fair game as it should be real money!
