Just got back, average game with two big, strong but uncreative sides canceling each other out. Just feel that PS should have changed it around a little bit around the hour mark, because both teams were happy to hoof and then battle for the scraps. Baz and Lukas both looked pretty knackered, would have brought on Grimes for lukas to add a bit of pace and skill to the front line, got the ball down and tried to play through them. Jerel was MOM by a country mile! Moment of the game....Roberts belting the replacement ball over the home end, absolutely priceless.

Not a bad following at all and the acoustics in that stand were pretty good, but the stewards marred the evening by a bunch of mini hitlers! Nice tidy ground and the chippy outside the away end was immense. as was the little boozer!

All in all, would have taken a point at 7:45 and had a top evening so happy days! Roll on saturday

i keep saying (well since we got grimes) that we need someone fast to atleast make the most of our hoofs away from defence, especially in the last 15/20 mins. just gives the other teams defence something to think about instead of lukas who looks like he's moonwalking, quite slowly, most of the time.

sturrock doesn't appear to hear me though  Sad

that is all

I do wonder why he is not using Grimes, last night sounded like the ideal time to use him, add in a bit of pace to some tired legs - but he brings on Brown instead..weird subs !!

The surface was very poor and the pitch seemed smaller than most. Rochdale lumped the ball forward and chased it up in numbers. All of which meant that "hoofing" was the best option to clear the ball which spent more time in the air than on the deck.

They started both halves well but we turned them round and made enough good chances to have nicked a goal or two.  Jerel hit one decent long diagonal to Zaaboub but overhit most others and that just gives up precious possession. Defended well though.

Roberts was back to his old tricks - too many half hearted flicky passes and blasting over from a great position.

Brown did absolutely nothing. Timlin got stuck in but found the frenetic pace and dead pitch a problem - kept underhitting short passes.

Overall a tough battling performance and good point won.

Usual stuff then - don't think he'll ever have Beckenbauer's distribution, but down here defending well does the trick for me. Wouldn't have said so last season, but I'm not looking forward to two games with him out of the side. Maybe Gnapka's (supposed)pace will edge him ahead of Partridge to fill in.

From the sound of the two of them if it was between them alone, i'd rather have Partridge in because Gnapka sounds a little 'raw' and may well be inclined to get himself sent off!!

Either way, Noubissie will be the one to replace Smith at right back and the Ifil position is surely going to be filled by the big dog Westwood?

What the hell has happened to Timlin?   His last few games before suspension he was shocking and last night was a cameo of frightening ineptitude....is it something to do with the beard?

I to was calling for Grimes to come on and add some pace to our forward line.

Lukas got in behind off some Barry Corr flick ons, but just doesnt have the pace to get away from the defenders

Would've been happy with a point before the game, but should've nicked it on the night. Players seemed to be celebrating the point (probably a good result for both teams considering we were both hitting some form)

I can't help thinking that Roberts would be a good impact substitute, as he does nothing for the first 70 minutes anyway. He only started running at the end of the game. He obviously feels his recent goals have done enough as he's stopping trying again - more effort please Robbo.
Repeating what others have said: Corr and Lukas looked tired. And Lukas can't seem to get any power behind his shots. Can one of the loanees hit a piledriver of a shot?
Jerel lived up to his beast name - MoM - okay he wasn't precise with his passing, but the only option on was the hoof up to the front two. His tackling and heading was great. Peacock was also getting stuck in there and winning most headers - I'm warming to him as a midfielder.

Great noise from the home fans, great chippy, easy free parking, good run over the hills from Blackburn
