...yet.

It's great that they've finally acknowledged the existence of the consortium, but it looks to me to be nothing more than stalling tactics. I'm guessing they think this'll buy them some peace until the end of the season??

IT WON'T.

Now is more imperative than ever to keep ramping up the protests. Actually I've just read it again amd they don't even mention a consortium, still, WHY?? Also they're still trotting out the complete bullshit "other investor" line which I think even Maverick and STFC Jeffery would struggly to truly believe.

It's great they're now supposedly talking to Bill, but the fact they appear to be trying to cut Mike Wilks and the Trust out of the loop is worrying, and I don't think this is a significant change, this is the statement they should have released in November for fucks sake.

Stalling tactics, more protests required.

exactly what I thought - it's something and nothing - amend it to say we have entered formal takeover talks with Bill Power and the Fans Consortium and we're getting somewhere, until then, it's behind the Arkells

Everyone should still protest and get behind the arkells, I know I will but don't underestimate this is a massive step forward they have acknowledged the bid exists so that means the consortium have re-submitted what the board deem 'acceptable'. This is going to bring things alot alot closer to ahead this is only good news 1. negotiations could proceed and we could have our dream of the consortium taking over or 2. the board could stall or reject the deal swelling the numbers in the protests. I for one am delighted.

If we were earlier in the season i wuldn't be so concerned - i can just see things grinding to a standstill once the seasons over and they know the scope for protests is seriously diminished

it's not really a massive step at all, it's not even the first bid that's been submitted.

they've done this now to undermine the upcoming trust meeting where a motion will be passed by the c.1000 trust members to begin trust-backed protests.

we shall come down on the board with great vengeance and furious anger.

Yes thats not what I am saying lets keep the pressure up and keep protesting.  Mike Wilks has confirmed over on Rivals that they submitted the offer and it has been acknowledged this time so for me that is a big step.

If its a tactical move it could be one that haunts the board as I said it is a win win situation now either consortium get the club or the board get found out that they are deliberatly blocking it which will further increase fans behind the Arkells.

I will still protest but today I feel slightly more optimistic of the situation  Cheesy

We can hit 'em in the pocket where it'll hurt. By witholding purchase of Season Tickets.  This would be a real incentive & would work particularly well if the Consortium promised early bird prices to all season ticket applications made in the first 30 days of a takeover.
My arguement for this goes .............My loyalty lies with myself & STFC. I believe that the board are NOT to be trusted with large sums of money as they seem to disapear into a black hole. I therefore feel that is prudent (for the sake of myself & to STFC after we have got rid of this board) to withhold those monies until I know it will be managed correctly.  One only has to look at Farepack for a comparison !

Pulp Fiction: The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who in the name of charity and good will shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

Bible: And I will execute great vengeance upon thee with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the LORD, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.

That one?
