http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/internationals/6497817.stmlampard's wrist, that was apparently alright a few days ago, is now apparently broken. might mean mclaren is forced to actually play gerrard in the middle without looking like he has climbed down and simply doing what the papers say, not that I think i particulalry care anymore. wonder if it was like in escape to victory when the ipswich keeper got his arm broken just so sylvester stallone could play

I dont think we will miss him tbh. If anything, the middle might be a bit more balanced without him. Gerrard and Hargreaves as the centre pairing will do for me.

yeah, agree too, but I get the impression that mclaren has a very hard time accepting advice, even if it is good, and needs an excuse to save face (not that its a face particularly worth saving)! I still fully expect to see lennon on the left and us scraping a 1-0 win in a turgid 90 minutes...

Lampard misses the Andorra game - I'm sure he's distraught. It's more spin - It's not as if this will remain.
Either way - we'll absolutely destroy the Andorrans (?) and he'll be in the next line-up or we'll produce a shoddy 3-0 win and Lampard will walk back into the line-up.
We might as well enjoy the lack of Lampard and his ample amount of missed chances for this game only.

So Gerrard and Hargreaves in the centre with Lennon and Downing on the flanks. Why does McClaren play Downing.

i'd rather see lennon on the left and becks back on the right to be honest at least until Joe Cole can resume the left wing and then lennon and becks would be fighting for the right - chances he will ever recall Becks are slim to none though!

Downing's form has been ace lately his crossing is excellent and it'll be nice to have some balance on the left. Lampard is class, make no mistake about it. But England need to play a balanced side and Gerrard and Lamps have not proved they can play together. So lets see what we're like without Fat Frank.

Aaron Lennon on the left is a joke. Embarrassing. He needs to play on the right if anywhere, but I still think his ability is massively overhyped. Stewart Downing is utter gash from what I've seen, but at least he has a left foot and can maybe cross a ball into the box. Andorra? who gives a flying fuck, not me, I can't get excited watching England any more, least of all when against a part time team who you just know we'll scrape an unconvincing 2-0 against.
Fuck em all, I don't even know if it's Mclarens fault though, I think he's full of shite and is more Swiss Tony than Ron Manager, but holy fuck he knows at least a BIT about football, and with these piss arse players we've got, surely that should be enough to walk the piss poor group we're in.
I blame the players, for strutting around like they're fucking pop stars, and for the constant bullshit they spout about really wanting to win. if they really wanted to win, they'd put the fucking effort in and win. Heard Lee Dixon on FiveLive the other night and he was banging on about playing alongside Tony Adams, and how donkey wouldn't have stood for anything less than 100% effort, every single game. He said that it made him (Dixon) consistently perform above himself, even when he wasn't fully fit.
I'm sick of these fucking pansy premiershit greed league players disgracing the national shirt with their fucking oh-so-hard-done by bullshit, I don't think they ever play anything other than within themselves. they don't want to work their bollocks off for the cause and the smallest excuse they'll duck out of it. when was the last time an england team really worked for a result, the last I can remember was 1998 2-2 against argentina and that was when we went down to ten men and the bulldog spirit came out from fuck knows where.
I'll be doing something else tonight, I won't be watching that nonsense.

Apprentice starts again tonight - ill be watching that. I have lost all interest in international games until the big tournements come up - and I wasnt even as keen during this world cup as previously. Because of this its made me care about Swindon loads more. I got slated at work today for saying I would rather Swindon finished third in our league this season than England qualify for the Euros. But its true!
