OS report:

"Just on the half hour mark Mendes was denied by Ifil before Jutkiewicz headed wide from a Jutkiewicz cross."

To be fair, that was one of his best performances in a Town shirt IMO. Great footwork for the assist and showed a range of fantastic hold-up and link-up play. That kid is going to be a hell of a player. OK so he's no Rooney but if he keep going the way he is, he'll certainly not look out of place once he's fully developed.

His touch for the first goal to take it round the defender was top class.

His touch was class yes but he didnt get a shot on target all game! for a striker to be unable to shoot, thats a little bit of a worry....I feel the kid has an awful lot of work to do on his game before he can start to expect the change to play with Andy Johnson like he seems to think he will!

Sorry but in my view the deal we got for him was more than we should have got and fair play to Paul Sturrock for getting that much.

I'm sure Everton realise that. They've not exactly paid for a finished article, he still needs work.

Spot on Sam. As i said to the corrie butcher yesterday, he reminds me of a young Chris Sutton. Never an out and out goalscorer but he will put himself about a bit and get a few.

What we are getting now for him is peanuts.
What worries me more is the deal itself and it's  payment structure.

he reminded me of peter thorne when he scored that hatrick against west brom on the telly all those years ago... minus the goals obviously but just the way he ran and came to the ball and turned his way past defenders

Looked quite incapable of scoring yesterday but on the whole did very well and had some really good touches. And we've seen before that he can stick it in the goal so not too much of a worry.

In response to Sharky's post, I have heard nothing to suggest he thinks he will walk into Everton's team. On the radio he sounded quite in awe of such a big club and was saying how he is going to have to work really hard before he gets near the first team
