I've taken a week off thinking about this whatsoever and immersed myself in a parallel land that is Football Manager. I'm 400k in the black and managing to turn bids of £2m down for a midfielder I bought for 65k 18 months before.

Now, in this darstardly Diamanditic world we live in, 2m for an 'asset' bought for 65k would be right up there with the Rory fallon and SSP deals among all-time-most-proud STFC-sale-moments. Not having the business acumen of Super Mike I turned down the bid and said midfielder looks to be getting me promoted again.

This world is better. On saturday afternoon I might be attending my PC not the Town End.

Maybe Diamandis and Co play Football Manager and have seen how easy it is to turn Swindon Town into a profitable organisation and a higher league club???
Maybe that is what they meant when they detailed the 'potential' of Swindon Town without giving any reasoning.....it was because on the game they managed to do it....so naturally they can do it for real!

In fact I think the infamous '5 year plan' may have stemmed from a game of Champ Manager that went a little too well and got their hopes up of bgeing able to do it for real!!

I think your formation would possibly work a treat in fact....but the boards attempts to swindle the finances are a school boy error straight out of the game.....a bit like if you try and cheat Football manager by editting a team to have 1.5 billion in the bank and 1.3 billion transfer budget.....you start the game up and you have less than you would normally be given if you hadnt cheated!

When it  comes to football manager though Moonraker...i'm afraid there is only one formation to play and it's my 4-1-3-2....not yours!

the question is.....where do you make your players run in your 4-1-3-2???
if you dont already......change it to have the DM running back between CB's and dont put runs on anyone else! Just adjust your two wide midfielders to be on run with ball and make forward runs often.

Found I am unbeatable this way and so would swindon town if I were at the helm!!! mwahahahahahah (evil laugh)....(followed by slowly picking up my coat and leaving the room to look for a taxi)

why not.....they can't force the club to sell to the consortium just to get their money back sooner can they!
They CAN however say well we will not renegotiate the CVA as we understand there is another party that will pay it IF you let them take over and if you don't we will close you down....and then Mr A would then say...."Ok close us down!"

in theory he could recomend the club be closed down, but then the wills', mike d, etc would lose all their investment. so that won't happen.
