Bloc Party sound as much like The Smiths as Anal Cunt sound like Celine Dion.

Just my opinion on one song I've heard... That's all.

I am planning to go on a cd buying spree shortly as the last cd I bought was American Idiot by Green Day!! (Which is still superb)

Thinking of buying new albums by Kaiser Chiefs, Bloc Party, Engineers and Idlewild, any comments? (sensible preferably!!)

Listening to The new Doves album at the mo (copied by my old man), pretty good IMHO

Got the Kaiser Chiefs album today, now on my fourth listen and love it. Of the 12 tracks I'd say only two are a bit lame.

'Modern Way', 'I predict a riot' and 'Oh my God' being particular standouts for me.

Overall a cracking swipe at modern day society and a very 'London sounding' band, despite being from Leeds.

I've only heard one Bloc Party track so couldn't really compare.

I ended up buying Kaiser Chiefs, The Bravery and Idlewild. All are very good IMHO.

Thinking of getting Bloc Party (heard mixed thoughts about them though) and British Sea Power next.

sucky??

The first album was crap IMO but the new album got good review, even in the Metro which rarely gives good reviews.

the bloc party album kinda drops off towards the end.
