Anyone would have thought we were on the verge of relegation on reading this board lately. Yes i know we are going through a poor period but the fact is we are level on points with Franchise in 3rd spot and a game in hand over some of the other teams.

Other than Hartlepool the other teams around us are dropping points too. Maybe its time we stop looking at the negatives, and listing players who should never play again and really get behind the team Saturday. We need to get out of this league this season otherwise I believe we will get stuck here for a few seasons. A good result Saturday (which we should get at home to a poor team) and we will be right back in the mix for automatic promotion. Forget the past few weeks, we cant change that and get behind the lads from now till the end of the season and get out of this division!

That has to be the right attitude, but for whatever reason, some of the players are not performing, some week after week.  If A.S. are given a confident 2:0 defeat, then we are back on track, anything less then we are not back on track.

We've played 35 games and they're the first to put 3 past us. It was bound to happen at some point, so don't see what the problem is (yet/so far/fingers crossed).

Fulham, get it right  Cheesy

Good day out, but so depressing in contrast to seeing them a few times with a mate a few years ago. There's no passion amongst the supporters now, it's all been watered down and I can only liken it to going to the cinema, ie: different crowd each game. Sad but true.

we wont be going anywhere thats the what the problem is. the players need to pull their fingers out of their arses and Sturrock needs to start coming down harshly on them. if it means we have to play half our youth team then so be it. they will probably care more about the club than some of the players currently do

the reason every one is so negative is because they know that if we dont make it up this season theres a good chance we will struggle next - unless we get BP and the consortium in .. due to lack of gates/money

It's obvious why some are feeling negative. The performances in the last few games have been even more abysmal than they have been throughout the season.

Its quite hard to draw any positives from the barnet and stockport away games for instance. Yes stockport were on a glorious run, hadn't conceded a goal etc. But anyone who was at that game can surely admit to the fact that stockport didn't look anything special really. Town really had nothing to lose going into the game on Saturday - they were facing a team on an awesome run, who were on the verge of history. The pressure was all on Stockport and town just didn't compete at all. You can imagine a scenario whereby stockport concede a goal, and due to the fact that they haven't in such a long time, confidence can shake. This was a missed opportunity.

Sturrock made some wrong choices again - mixing up a back line for one of the harder games of the season. Taking pook out (even though he has played a lot with Timlin), not even taking weston. Lots of tactically poor decisions too with the formation changing time and time again in the second half. Peacock starting up front, then going to the middle, then going to the back when ifill went. Roberts/brown playing out wide and switching sides. I wonder whether the players even know themselves where they are playing sometimes.

It is very easy to be negative about the current situation. Town aren't as good as some people believe they are. We're mediocre at best, dire most of the time - but the standard of play in this league means we can still scrape by. However, as some have pointed out - we are still in a fine position in the league. A win on saturday is vital - and I believe we will win. I reckon that an automatic place is tricky now with stockport and hartlepool on great runs - but Walsall are still unpredictable meaning that there is always hope.

Reality check - we are still above Stockport. Winning runs do not last forever.

We are still quite capable of finishing 2nd or 3rd, even if 1st is starting to look a bit out of reach. Having said that, 6 games in look how we were doing. It goes to show that form can change and does make a difference. NOTHING has been decided yet
