I understand there’s a good chance we will beat the club’s post-war record for the least amount of goals conceded in a season.

A lot of people disregard statistics like that but I take great pride in it. No team has given us a hiding this season – we haven’t conceded three in a single game yet. All the lads at the back have played their part.

Taken from thisis, quoted by Ady Williams.

Thats would be a pretty good record to achieve in my opinion.  How many of the top teams this season (apart from us) have not conceeded 3 goals in a single game? NONE. (Obviously I have only listed results from the League).

Hartlepool - Shrewsbury beat them 3 nil at home & Doncaster beat them 3-1 at home.

Walsall - Beaten 3-1 by Hartlepool.

Lincoln - Beaten 3-2 by Franchise, beaten 3-1 by Darlington, 4-1 by Chester, 3-1 by Notts County and 4-1 by Hereford.

Franchise - Drew 3-3 with Barnet, lost 3-1 against Hereford & got hammered 5-0 against Rochdale.

Stockport - Lost 3-0 and 4-2 against Shrewsbury, Lost 3-0 against Chester

Just to think if we had scored a few more goals we really could have bumped up our goal difference if it came to the crunch against Walsall on the last game of the season.

Pretty pointless post I guess however thought it pretty interesting that we have yet to conceed 3 in a game.

Sir Reginald alluded to this last week...

I agree, the defence has improved vastly this season, the key being Adi Williams. He's clearly had a big effect on Jerel, if not Jack Smith and Nicho. We'll really miss him if he's out long-term.

Tbh though, we've needed a watertight defence this season, as we've had no-one sticking the pig skin in the onion bag regularly for us

If we concede < 2 goals in our remaining 12 games, then a new record can be set.

Stockport have just gone 8 without conceding,  which shows it coukd be doable.  In reality though we are a side that tends to make a present  roughly once a game, so will probably end up conceding something around 45 to 46.

We've improved because Sean O'Hanlon fucked off to Franchise.

God knows where we would be, if he had signed the 3 year deal we offered him.

Anyway, the back 5.

Better goal keeper
Better right back
Better Ifil!
Better older expirenced captain leader centre back
Better left back

Jack Smith is better than Steve Jenkins/Andy Gurney
Jerel Ifil (06/07) is better than Jerel Ifil (05/06)
Adie Williams is MILES better than Sean O'Hanlon

I agree with DV on this one. OK the opposition is at times pittiful, but the defence this season is much better than last

As long as x = 4, that would be okay.  Can Westwood play center forward?
