I generally agree.....but Sturrock said he would have some in by Saturday. That to me indicated that he had identified the players he wanted and discussion had already been made.

In truth, it was just what the fans wanted to hear wasnt it.....

Didn't Sturrock say that one of the players wouldn't be available this weekend due to a 'technicality'. I guess the 'technicality' is that he didn't sign.

Every week Sturrock says he has one or two players lined up but nothing happens, hopefully we'll have some signing next week.

I think the phrase used was 'hope to have someone in for saturday'. Thing is hopes and reallity usually follow different timescales.
I hope to have automatic promotion sealed with 2/3 games to spare, reallity is we will probably have a squeeky bum final day game vs Walsall.

I can only think that Sturrock's insistance on players living within a 30 mile radius of Swindon is badly hampering his attempt to bring players in.

I think it might be something to do with the board, i wouldn't be surprised if that lot had something to do with it.

Maybe they are blocking Sturrock from signing anyone in order to save money and raise extra funds?

As i posted in a different thread maybe Sturrock was forced to offload players such as monkhouse and comyn-platt to raise extra funds, that may explain why the board managed to pay the £100k CVA bill.

I'm not trying to start rumours, but it's something that should be considered because Sturrock has wanted some extra players for a while now and he hasn't managed to get anyone, doesn't it look alittle bit odd? maybe Sturrock is finding out for himself what the board are really like!!

Sturrock wasn't made to get rid of Monkhouse. When I talked to him at training he said that Monkhouse "wasn't his sort of player" (he wants players who play high tempo in the midfield) and "was injured all the time". He was delighted to get money for him, and he said that the funds would be available for transfers.

One of the players got injured this week...as for the other one his manager changed his mind

See Sturrock's post-match interview on OS for confirmation, can't be bothered to link it!

Well lets hope it is soon. We have 3 glaring holes for me:

Striker who looks like they can score a goal

Old head meidfielder

Old head cenre half

Without these i fear the other 4 teams going for the top 3 slots have the edge over us. This is not conting for any further injuries/suspensions which all teams get
