Now I come to think about it....I did have a phase in my 20's when I was interested in Islam.
I was particularly taken by the the fact that most :doobie: seemed to come from Islamic countries, and polygamy seemed to be encouraged.....also the whole mystery of the Islamic world, from Mali to Samarkhand, did and to some extent still does grab the imagination.
I did a bit of travelling in Africa and the middle east, but plans for a trip to Iran got royally scuppered by the otherthrow of the Shah.
The arrival of the mad mullahs on the scene, rather did for my youthful romanticized view of Islam.....and as with many things the phase passed.
