BBC RS state that Paul Evans needs an op on his ankle and will be out for a further 4-6 week.

Bit of a bugger really as a fully fit Evans would really give us a boost in the run in. C'est la vie.

Yeah. Is on the BBC website too. Real shame, if you ask me. He's miles and miles better than Timlin ...

Poor fella is going the right way about not getting a contract for next season - he's really suffered with the injuries, thankfully Timlin is a competant repalcement - and ideally him bombing forward whilst Evans marshalled things from deep would be good -  some real midfield steel.

Yes but this is an old injury that keeps coming back. This Op is supposed to fix the problem for good. I'm very much looking forward to seeing a fully fit Evans in 6 weeks blasting in the long range shots from 30+ yards.

He is brilliant!

Shame about Evans as we've all got our opinions on what our 2 centre mid players would be when they're all fully fit but we don't know what luggys thoughts are. He seems to pick players on form i.e. Pook over Weston as IMHO I think Weston has far more to offer and if it wasn't for Weston's injury, I don't think Pook would have got a look in.  I think that Evans and Timlin are very similar and couldn't have played together, so with Evans out, we don't have anyone pushing Timlin for a starting place-maybe this will persuade Luggy to have a look at a loan signing??

Timlin is an attacking midfielder. He is only playing the holding role because Pook and Weston aren't capable of playing there. In my mind, if every centre midfielder was fully fit, Evans would be the first name on the sheet.

Evans' career is coming to a depressing conclusion. He's been great when available but the chances of him fully recovering (considering his age) is not great.

Nope, Evans is 33 this year. Matthew Hewlett is only 30 and he had to retire.
