Woke up this morning and couldn't move. It took me 30 minutes to get out of the bedroom. My missus had to put my socks on cos I couldn't bend down (I did say to her, 'While you're down there.........',  but she told me to piss off, miserable bitch, I only wanted some succour Wink )

Managed to go to work, then went to the doctor who informed me that, apart from painkillers, there's nothing he can do and it'll 'work itself out eventually'.

It's fucking agony! Not as bad now as first thing, but I know it'll be bad again tomorrow morning.

Does anyone else suffer from this?

And before anyone says it's old age, I've been getting it on and off since my late teens (Ever since I tried to be macho and picked up a washing machine on my own. What a twat).

Have you got a wussy soft mattres on your bed? That'll have to go if you do! Sleep on the floor, sounds mad but it will keep your back straight and should help.

hertha,

if your getting the pains in your legs it will be your lower discs in your spine rubbing against the nerves.

your doc is rite, theres nothing you can do.

depending on the degree of your injuries, you could have it for weeks-months.

i slipped a disc in my lower spine and was in agony for 8 months, it finished off my footie days.

it was by far the most painful thing i went through so i know how you feel.

see a physio for exercises, try not to take too many painkillers and above all else...keep active. the worst thing you can do for it is sitting down for too long !

Yep I'm getting the shooting pains down my legs. It's not as bad once I'm up and about, but even this evening. when I've sat down for a while, when I get up it's killing me!

Hope I don't have it for months like you did.

At the moment I'm walking like I've shat myself!

I'm a right fat cunt but I still manage to play footy twice a week, 2 rounds of golf a week, one driving range a week and cricket 4 times a week in the summer and the worst i've had is a few finger breakages

I played football Sunday (to a fashion) and im 103,smoke 20 a day and am dead dead fat.Can i be a hero as well? my legs ached a bit next day mind.
