Weve had fairly northern based leagues for the past 3 seasons, and Im getting pretty sick of it. Looking at the table the teams at the bottom are almost all southern, so we could miss out on the bigger gates AGAIN next season. Obviously this is all provided that we are promoted, and theres no chance of that happening.  Wink

1 Scunthorpe 30     55 - Instantly forgetable club. Hope they go up, just so we dont play them.
2 Oldham 29          52 - Slightly above average northern side.
3 Bristol City 28     52 - Hope they are still in the same league we helped relegated them from way back in 1998/99. Laughing stock.
4 Nottingham Forest   52 - Quality club/fans/ground. Hope they stay down.
5 Yeovil 29            51 - Piss take
6 Swansea 29        47 - Fucking nutters. But where were you at the Vetch?
7 Blackpool 28       47 - Ok weekend. Shit club.
8 Doncaster 28      46 - Where did 11,000 new fans come from? Wont last.
9 Tranmere 30      46 - Chavy kids team. Good ground.

10 Carlisle 29       40 - Would like to go up there.
11 Huddersfield 30 38 - Still never been.

12 Gillingham 30  38 - Kent OB are going to rodger us. Dont you dare fart in the Medway. Just like City get rodgered by West Midlands at Walsall. Shit away end. Wanker fans.

13 Port Vale 29    37 - Ok away day. Decent home crowd. Their away following is shite.
14 Bradford 30      36 - Dull. Ground is too big.
15 Chesterfield 29 35 - Boring as fuck.

16 Northamptn 29 35 - Cut from the same cloth as the scummers. Dislike them a lot after the 2001 home game. Wankers.

17 Crewe 29        35 - Boring club. Never been, the new ground would be my only motivation.

18 Brighton 29     35 - Need to settle a few scores. But the stakes in the league games are too low. Really want to kick them in the balls. Still at the Withdean/not enough tickets/shit ground. Old wounds still fresh in the mind. Everyone above should stay up without a problem.

19 Millwall 29       33 - They would take the piss at ours. Plus all the Swindon/Penhill Millwall that would be about. Not very nice at home. Shit away day, shit ground. Too many police. No fun. Hope they get relegated and Orient/Bournemouth stay up.

20 Leyton Orient 29 31 - not played them in the league since 1986. Not played at all since League cup 1999 (when the knocked us out!). Ground looks pretty smart now (if 3 sided). Really want this one.

21 Bournemouth 29 28 - always a good day out, capable of bringing good support to ours when they are doing well. Usually lively games. Hope they survive.

22 Cheltenham 29  26 - small time wankers, not bothered either way. Good to do them, but risky, they have the better of us.   Clearly not up to div 2 standards though.

23 Rotherham 29    24 - shit away day, and shit away following at the CG, happy to see them in L2 except feel sorry for the harsh 10 point penalty.

24 Brentford 30      23 - good away day, always a piss take. But done too many times, not that bothered. Can bring 1000+ to ours. Be a shame, but they look doomed.

Who do you want to stay up? Realistically?

An interesting analysis, but none of it exactly sets the pulse racing....its also a bit previous to think we're as good as up.....that attitude tends to bite you on bite you on the bum (see O*frod).....I'd like to go back to Cheltnum and win mind.

I know. But it does affect us a lot either way. If we stay down then the teams comming down are at least southern. But that would be scant consolation. Weve really got to do it this year. If we fail now next year will be much harder to get everyone motivated.

I think its time to say goodbye to the 4 down/4 up between div2/div 3. Too much shite in div 3 with a shot at the play offs.

I was a bit harsh on Chesterfield. Its not a bad away day, they dont have bad support. Still a bit bitter about that 3-0 in 2003. Spent a lot of cash on the train that day, left at half time.

If we do go up, I'd like to see Bournemouth and Orient survive out of the bottom six.

Still don't think we should get too far ahead of ourselves....we've a classic coming up tomorrow...8 defeats in a row, new manager etc  Surrender

Bit like at Chesterfield who hadn't won for 14 from the start of the season, yet still turned  us over 3-0....you should have stayed,  seeing long balls pumped up to Deon Burton...marvellous Marvin Robinson, bagged a brace now a scummer.

I worry that  Luggy paid money fro Burton. :?

I know... which shows him to be a man of perception.....I guess all managers get some wrong, the best managers get the least wrong....Ferguson....... Ralph Milne, Eric Djemba Djemba, Kleberson, and prrobably loads more whom I can't be bothered to think about.

For me if somehow Bradford, Crewe and Rotherham could go down with some other favourable relegations from the championship that'd suit me, just to cut the mileage down a bit, some localish and london games would be good.  Orient is a game I fancy too, and Bournemouth cos my folks live there.  I missed yeovil away last time and fancy that too.

I'm with Mr Smeeton, its way to early to be thinking about who we'll be playing next season.Lets not get too ahead of ourselves, there's still a while to go in this season yet.

This was confusing the fuck out of me last night. I wrote Nottingham F.O.R.E.S.T (without the full stops), and instead it wrote Nottingham tip.

Guess its back to the old Shaw Tip debate. Whits's underhand tactics.
