Shaun asked him if there was any progress with the fan's consortium, his reply was along the lines that "our legal advisers will be meeting with Bill Power's and Phil Emmel's legal advisers this week". I can't remember his exact wording regarding his response to the question I can't quite recall but he intimated that the club consider Power's money to be share capital, which indicated to me that this meeting is regarding that alone - hence the refusal to communicate with Wilkes.

Don't take that as gospel, it was merely my cynical interpretation.

Smarmes said something like it's doubtful that we will be signing anybody before the transfer window shuts and that loans are more likely.

Also it sounded like they are just meeting power/emmell for investment and not regarding taking over the club.

As if power is going to give them losers anymore money, he's already given them £1million and where the hell did that go?

RCR, you give up too easy. No, they won't "just walk away", we never thought they would. What is happening next week will hopefully lead to the start of a dignified exit out of the door marked "Graceful exit with dignity intact". Failing that, there's being booted down the back stairs by the bouncers ;-)

no matter what the intentions are, the fact that the two parties are talking is progress.
