I have been wearing them for nearly a year. Quite blatantly needed them else I wouldn't have passed my driving test. Don't wear them expect at footy, driving and in school sometimes

I wear contacts most of the time now as I found it so annoying wearing glasses as they always seemed to get bent after nights out and damaged etc. As you said though they aren't cheap.
FRED-how come you can't wear contacts now due to conjunctivitus if you don't mind me asking? I've had this a couple of times since wearing contacts but haven't been told to stop wearing them.

I wear glasses and have dont for the best part of 12 years now, and everyone asks me why i dont get laser surgery, it seems logical coz the two things i love most result in me having to take my glasses off or keep em on and risk em getting broken thats footy and going to gigs for you dirty fuckers, so yes laser surgery looks to be the answer, but im not 100% satisfied with it, ok i know people have had it done with no side affects but when was the first surgery performed? 10 years ago(at a guess)? great still fine after 10 years but what about 20/30/40 years where is the proof that it will last that long, being only 21, i dont want to go blind by the time in 40/50, and these is not proof to say i wont.

I would suggest going for a consultation. It costs you nothing and an expert can give you an answer to that question rather than some bloke on t'internet who you have never met before !

My eyes are still itching Devon and I cant even bear to have them in. The miles that I drive means that I had to do something immediately so I plumped for the specs

Not particularly. You can get frames dirt cheap. The lenses are quite expensive though.

Well I just spent £230 on mine.

Not having to wear glasses since about the age of 6 meant I was a bit clueless. Still at least I got what I think is a decent pair

Where did you get them from?

My optician is in Cricklade, did me a great deal on my last pair.

Vision Express. I wasn't fussed about getting things cheap, I just wanted it done quickly on a Saturday before I book my driving test.

Specsavers looked way too chaotic for my liking. I used to go to an independent optician but that's even more expensive according to my mum.

It is generally, but he cut me a deal because I went to him instead of Specsavers.   Cheesy

I wear contacts but have to wear glasses when im not wearing them. I spent like £150 on just the lenses getting them thinned and over £100 on the frames and after a couple weeks fell asleep in them and broke them.

My glasses are now cheap ones with lenses half and inch thick!!! I look ace in them  Sad
