Drug Tests

Does anyone know how accurate these are?  I have to do a urine one next week.  I dont smoke weed but my flatmate is a bit of a chimney.  Am i likely to fail it through passive smoking?

Depends what it's for, but a lot of places don't actually test it. Especially for job interviews. They just want to see peoples reactions and if they turn up or not.

Yeah but they have to take a sample of your hair for that to work.

If it really is in your system you will piss it out within a few days. Likelihood is you won't unless you feel yourself getting high off your mate's fumes.

absorb it THROUGH your hair!? are you sure?

i know they can use hair for drug tests, and strands can still show traces of cannabis quite a few months after smoking but i thought that was just due to hair samples being a good container of DNA, not that your hair just soaks up the green.

you can't absorb anything THROUGH your hair; hair is dead, it might smell a bit smoky after a night in the boozer, but it can't absorb things from the atmosphere.  What hair does do however is contain traces of what you've injested and there are apparently tests around that can detect certain compounds.  I think I heard the 3 months thing before, it sounds reasonable. I think there was something in New Scientist about it a while ago.
