Wasn't Matt Collins at Swindon as well?

Went to Fulham as a record fee for a 15yr old or something like that IIRC.

£3 isn't exactly going to affect your mortgage. I thought you earn a packet?

Hulbert, sort of...because he was released from ther youth team and we grabbed him and he played in ours prior to senior football - so it was youth scouting.

Matthew Collins was another who went off to Fulham for a six-figure sum - and has since done bugger all. (so I suppose we did quite well out of it)That's an example we have to use to kids who want to leave now.

But it seems that as a rule, we get a load of kids through who leave if they're cut out for it, and stay if they're not. Pook gets a hard time on here, but does show flashes of decency.

No, you misunderstood. I had my adviser round to complete the application and everything. Signed my life away about an hour ago.

I wouldn't say I earn a packet, just enough to get by and have a bit of fun every month. Nothing on the scale of what some people on here earn. Although hopefully I'm going to do my full CEMAP this year so I can do Macca out of a job  Cheesy

It's sad really because all these kids want to do is play football but they don't receive the most sensible advice from their parents et al.

Of course, a kid will want to play for a Premiership academy but as Dave Byrne mentions in his article the odds are they'll have more chance breaking into the STFC first team.

I dont think its true.

Premiership youngsters go out on loan if they are good enough so have as much chance of first team football even if its not their actual club, plus they get developed by better class coaches.

The flip side is that they'll receive better coaching (debatably) at bigger clubs and therefore be a better player when it comes around to senior level - if they get released, they getreleased, but can get picked up then by a lower league club.

They were on STFC world a while back, if they do the same for tonights game I'll put them up to

Looking at them again though, they might have been done by QPR so not sure whether we'll do our own for tonight
