Anybody actually know much about this lot? Other than Jutkiewicz, who else are we likely to see in the first team before long? Chris Allen's name seems to pop up now and again, as well as Rigley - any details on them? Seem to remember past youth teams, especially the Campagna/Culbertson/McAreavey one getting loads more press than this one - fat lot of use it did them mind...

I've heard Scott Doe's someone who could maybe break into the first team in the future.

No sign of Carayol tonight - i remember we (or rather Tuttle/Lee) got him from Woking in the summer

Always a bit wary of talking up the kids - remember when Alan Young and a centre back (name escapes me) went up to Celtic on trial - then they made little or no impact on the first team.

We seem to have very successful youth teams but the 'conversion rate' to pro seems to be low in comparison.

Scott Doe is a central defender and was signed with Theo Walcott wasn't he and at one stage considered to have more potential than Walcott.

Jon Stewart is a big lump in goal but doesn't inspire me with confidence.

Mustaffa Carayol I think could be a useful player, other than that I don't really know much about the rest.

I've got the highlights of the QPR game on my PC and it's not protected content like stfc world but wouldn't have a clue how to put it up on here

QPR highlights...put them on youtube and link it?

4-0 up now

Another one was Chris Taylor, he was considered a hot prospect making his debut at 16 but disappeared off the scene very quickly

Taylor looked class when he came in - but then when you get man of the match 2 games from 3 and are plastered all over the local rag the next day at 16, you probably think you're the boy about town, rather than knuckle down (or he did...)

scored for basingstoke at the weekend

No, Hulbert preceded Young by at least 2 or 3 years. Holcroft was a kid we picked up from Everton - and never really did anything. Hulbert did go on trial to Newcastle but nothing came of it - wonder if he'd have kicked on with us if we didn't have to sell him because of that bloody clause.

At one point Hulbert was rumoured to have been subject to a £250k bid from Villa?

Of all our young players Mildy and Sol Davis have really been the only ones to make a good career for themselves, off the top of my head in recent years.  Its a miracle that Hulbert dragged his career out, he was so ineffective and lightweight IIRC.

Leigh Mills is another one, often captains Spurs reserves now and has represented England at every level upto under 18's.....we made a right mess of that transfer deal.

Matthew Mills his brother is at Southampton now I think and is another hot prospect

Nope, went to Man City for £1.2million during the summer. Regularly on the bench.

That is correct.

Does Hulbert count as he joined us from Everton?
