yup, over the last few years its been Frank Lampard this and Steven Gerrard that.

Paul Scholes is still better than both of them.

dunno bout that, gerrard is the complete midfield player imo.
scholes cannot tackle, but the lad can play and he's doing the buisness at the moment

absolutely 100% spot on.

the most under-rated england/english player of the last 15 years, and certainly better than beckham ever was. lampard and gerrard arent fit to even tie his boots up.

what i like about scholes the most is on his spare saturdays he goes and watches his beloved oldham play!

shame he's ginger.

Aye, indeed...

I remember an interview with Scholes a few years back....and the question was asked 'who did you idolise as a kid growing up, who did you aspire to be'

Did he say Pele, Maradonna, Cantona etc

Nope, some Oldham striker no one had ever heard of.

England have been a much poorer side since he retired from International football...

Although I'd agree that Scoles is a great player, Gerrard is without a doubt the best midfielder (if not player) in the country

If most English players had the same attitude and work rate and professionalism as Paul Scholes we would have had a much better world cup.

The bloke is football gold and no mistake.
