What're the chances of him playing for the USA?

Absolute Nil.

Beckham's pending move to the Galaxy is the dawning a new era for MLS - There used to be laws against such moves because of the demise of the NASL now the MLS has to prove that they can cope with major signings such as Beckham.

Because many Americans are playing in Europe now it won't hinder their development in football like it did in the 1970's.

£103million!?!?!?!

The USA has one of the best (IMO) pay structures in football, the average wage being only $60,000 a year (£40,000).

It's just going to spiral now and end up like Premiership pay standards.

that is over 5 years. he will earn 20 million a year which includes his image rights.

He must be hoping that Migs' injury-prone'ness' continues - otherwise there's no chance Becks will get a game in the middle

His contract is like this
An annual salary of $10m

His existing sponsorship contracts with his four sponsors - Motorola, Pepsi, Gillette and Volkswagen - are estimated to be worth $25m

His merchandising shirt sales will bring in $10m

His share of the club profits: $10m

that is $55m a year times that by 5 and then you would get $275m.

No Footballer in my opinion deserves half a million pound a week.

It is a very clever move. Once he retires he'll have so much work. He's a star already over there. He doesn't need all that money. No-one does, especially after all the merchandising work, commercial work etc on top aswell.

As for the schools. He has one in London so why didn't he move to West Ham or someone else?

Beckham won't change america into a nation of soccer lovers, if Pele can't do it then Becks definitely can't.

To be fair cookie they had not held the world cup at that stage its becoming more popular now yesterday they got 2000 applicants for season tickets alone because of this.if pele had gone over when they had held a world event it might have been different..

As for the other post why not west ham where would you have honestly gone. Its a amazing deal and ANY player in the world would of accepted that i believe if someone offered rooney, ronaldinho the same tomorow they would accept it aswell so why shouldnt he
