When I was a nipper  I had a sizeable collection of beer mats, many of them from the mainland of Europe, particularly the Low Countries, and Hunland.  I was given them by members of my family who seemed to spend an inordinate amount of time in pubs.....this tegestological tendency didn't last into adult life, as when I started going to pubs on my own, I'd get too pissed to collect the mats, more likely throw them at people.

I'm  thinking you rarely see beer mats now,  for this very reason in todays yob culture.

Am I imagining this or is the humble beer mat still available?

I like making towers, putting them on the edge of the table, hand underneath, flip 'em up, and catch 'em.

Think my record is about 16 in a stack  Cool

Interesting not one I'm familiar with.....Salisbury always used to be Gibbs Mew, Bishop's Tipple being an old favourite.
