Good answer. He could be valuable ovr the next few years, and I don't mean in terms of money!

I wouldn't mind TOO much if Weston went, and can't see who else would go for money really

I dont think we should be selling off our 'first team' players at all, not if we are serious about promotion.

However, Weston is only on a one year contract. He is now(?) free to talk to other clubs. As far as I know we havent offered him a new contract so he is a free agent in the summer. We know how highly Dennis Wise thinks of him. I expect him to be sold off

Lukas, however signed a 3 year deal at the start of the season. Although we might be offered good money for him we have no reason to sell. He cant escape and go on a free any time soon. We're in the driving seat with Lukas because he's under contract for another two and a half years

Under 23 though so if he goes in the summer it'll go to a tribunal.

The way i read it was that something is going to happen next week which will explain how we can afford to pay a club for a player.

Whether that is new investment, players sold off, who knows.   :-))(

If it is an investment, I just bloody hope they've got enough left over for the CVA payment....  :--

Remember when all the serious stuff started with the consortium, the current board said that they were in negotiations with two investors. Now I might be wrong, but wasn't them an entrepreneur of some description who knew sir seton?. Could this person have stumped up some cash? First time I read what Sturrock said I didn't think it implied selling players - that could come in time tho. Plus he said it was a nominal fee - not a big amount

I thought investor (but that begs the question how much and are they paying the debts first as they should) but now I'm not so sure as they mentioned he was away until the New Year and had not entered due dilligence etc (so hasn't even checked the club out).  Now I'm just confused.

"There is money involved and there are things happening at this football club which by the time next week comes, people will understand."

I'm usually quite pessimistic when it comes to STFC, but there's something strange about that statement that somehow suggests good things are just around the corner rather than bad.

I think Monkhouse is the man on the way and for a fee. Then we are getting in someone with his fee.

Of course that could be a tad optimistic. Saying that, would Luggy be the man hinting at investors and the such? I suppose he could if funds had been put into place for him to spend but I would have thought the board would release this information. Unless they have made Sturrock butter us up.

Luke Rodgers is finalising personal terms with Luggy at present and will hopefulyl sign for a 'nominal fee' of £30K before the Wrexham game.

Monkhouse will be the only player leaving in the next few days for a higher price than most would at first guess - approx £100K

And I think you will find that the board have now tied up further investment which will be the news you will receive before Tuesday or Wednesday next week (maybe earlier) - This will cover the CVA payments required.
