talk of him leaving soon, maybe afte the world cup??
don't know where i stand on this one, obviously has the ability after the other ashes win for us but a dodgy summer and this ashes embarrasement has surely put himself on the line.
Apparently half the team don't get on, not sure about that myself. Poor preparation, wrong choice for captain all along, it was obvious it was gunna be wrong.
discuss.

Agreed Johno, he's been a sucess but seems to have lost the ability to get the best out of the talent available. Some of the squad and team selection has raised an eyebrow for me. I'm surprised to hear of dressing room unrest as the 2005 seems a really galvanised unit.

discuss. I agree with you their Johno. Apparently on Christmas day half the team done their own thing and the other half had dinner together. No team spirit.

no panesar at the start was the obvious one. Read not starting has been slated abit. The players not performing doesn't help of course!

Also the preperation was not right aswell only two first class warm up matches with 12 and 14 aside. It is a joke.

Well i remember the calls for his head after the last Ashes series down under, thankfully the ECB kept him on ,BUT i do wonder this time around. At least on the last tour down there we didn't lose 5-0 and we had a bit of an injury list ,there are no such excuses this time around. You have to question the jobs he's doing, especially in the odi side of the game. Can anyone see us winning the World cup,i sure as hell can't.
I do wonder if the ECB will want to get rid of him though, not sure who would replace him either.

I can't see us making through the first knock out stage at the WC, the group should be OK, as it's full of poor sides but as soon as we meet someone better than Ireland or Kenya we'll be flying home.

its because we haven't got any real decent one day players. and the ones we do have don't perform anyway.

forgot to say, its like Ian Blackwell (i know some of you are thinking, shut up Johno, and i will in a minute) but he is a quality domestic one day player, you can't deny it but at international he hasn't performed with the bat.

Or with the ball. He is a good 20/20 player though. Maybe for the 20/20 world cup in RSA in September.

His last odi series in india was the pick of the bowlers, not for wickets but for his economy rate was brilliant. in 20/20s his averages don't look so good, but as im a somerset fan.....he is brilliant you know. http://content-usa.cricinfo.com/england/content/player/9117.html if you wanna look around!

His economy rate in pakistan was good aswell. He needs to lose weight first. An average of 38 in county cricket is good.
