In spacey's absent this seems to be the closest I can find. I like the sound of the polish black pudding.

Potatoe Pierogi with Mushroom sauce = best food in the world
Goes down nice with a pint of Zywiec
Then have some Wyborowa or Zubrowka to polish it all off.
Bigos is lovely too, especially when the weather is cold
Pączki (Polish jam doughnuts lovely)

I'm guessing you can get Zywiec in the Saveloy.
What's Wyborowa and Zubrowka?

What's Wyborowa and Zubrowka? Wyborowa is (white/clear) vodka as opposed to cherry vodka which is for the ladies. You can drink Wyborowa all night without fear of a hangover as long as you don't drink anything else.

OK I'm into vodka at the moment....but have orange in it as an expression of my solidarity with the Fan's Consortium. I suppose that's a bit gay....but I'm at ease with my sexuality.

Bartek, is there a polish brandy called Shlivowitz (sp?)
I used to live in a block of flats and had drinking sessions with a bloke from Sweden who had a Yugoslavian wife. They used to pour gallons of the stuff down me and I am sure it was Polish.
Bloody lovely anyway.

another favourite polish food of mine are the simple yet effected ziemniakowe placki, topped with gratted chedder cheese, its basicly potato fritters.
You can get zywiec, tyskie and okocim on savoy, tyskie is my personal fave.
As for wodka zubrowka is loverly, dont worry if you can pronounce it, its easy to spot as you will notice a green tint to it, this is from the blade of grass taken from a field where bison have grazed (probably pissed and shat on it aswell as the legend goes)

Rest easy Reg, orange is okay, just don't have a gut full of Wyborowa and then start drinking ale or other spirits. Mixers are okay.
