Yep! When he finally arrived! The AA came out within 30 minutes, but I think once he realised he couldn't fix it by jump leads he fucked off, telling us the recovery vehicle would be there by 8.30.
After 3 or 4 calls to the AA to chase them up, They finally arrived at 10.00. Wankers.
Funniest was when I phoned one time and explained the situation, the operator took all the details, then asked if she could help me with anything else..... Like what?
Should have asked for 5 quilts and a kebab for Rich..........

I'm still mystified by how our lights failing was actually caused by the radiator fan nearly falling off?! Detective Hayward has just pieced the puzzle together... Steve's minibus was fine until about halfway to Didcot, when the charging light came on and the temperature gauge started climbing. Followed by a realisation that the brakes were not working very well. On the way back (and in the dark), the wipers packed up and then the battery went and consequently the lights. Sooooooooooooo The fan belt probably went half way up the A34 on the journey there. No fan belt = no water pump (overheats) and no alternator (no amps). They probably have pump driven power assisted brakes as well (no brakes). The battery would have been man enough to last quite a few hours, even with the headlights on. First sign of it going flat...not enough umph to power the wipers. Still enough to burn the candles until sadly, that gave up too. I should have asked Larwood to take her stockings off at Didcot station to effect a repair... So if it wasn't raining and wasn't dark, the battery might've had enough umph to get back to Swindon.

Christ i felt and feel so guilty,it was ok for all us poxfordshire lot,but for you guys No need to feel guilty. As I've said already, it was actually a good laugh. But I think a lot of that was manical laughing due to tiredness, lack of food and being freezing! Locking the young lad out of the bus 2 or 3 times and trying to flash our fullbeam headlights at passing cars (when they didn't work) were just a few of the highlights, as was scouring the floor of the mini bus for food. Oh, and getting Richs' hopes up when I said I had a giant pork pie... I didn't....

Hearing the suffering I avoided makes me even more thankful for that lift larwood. That said I could have been on a minbus straight to swindon but foolishly decided to stay put!

Thanks to all the drivers, and especially to herthab for piloting our 'slightly temperamental' minibus.
